Cobham Plc is cutting up to 65 technical and administrative jobs at its Bournemouth Airport site as part of a restructuring strategy. However, the company will create 75 new jobs in 2012, mainly for structural aircraft fitters to work on its Airbus A330 Future Strategic Tanker Aircraft.

Derby based power systems company Rolls-Royce has won two contracts worth £23m to design and equip seven vessels for a Brazilian ship company. All seven vessels will be equipped with advanced Rolls-Royce technology to support effective manoeuvring, cargo handling and safe operation. They are expected to be delivered before the end of 2014. The company employs more than 39,000 staff across the globe and has facilities in 50 countries. The company's order book was £61.4bn at 30 June 2011.
