MITIE Group has secured a £10m contract to provide cleaning and environmental services for Birmingham Airport for five years. 90 people will transfer to MITIE, which will provide terminal cleaning, waste management and pest control services. A structured framework for more services is also in place which could lead to MITIE securing additional work. 2011 turnover £1.89bn, 58,860 employees.

Pre tax profit at Rentokil Initial, the Crawley based pest control and courier group, has increased by approximately 150 per cent to 13.4m in the first three months of 2012, up from 5.4m in the same period in 2011. The company has reported a 2.4 per cent increase in revenue from 609.7m in 2011 to 624.4m. Support services and construction company Interserve, based in Reading in Berkshire, has acquired training and development company Business Employment Services Training (BEST) for 17.5m. BEST operates across South and West Yorkshire and provides training and development for job-seekers and employers.
