UK Coals property division, Harworth Estates, is building 1,200 houses in the third phase of the £100m redevelopment of the former Rossington colliery in Yorkshire. The 49 hectare redevelopment will also include a food store, commercial units, a pub and hotel. New jobs and business opportunities are likely to arise as a result of the investment.

Kazakhmy Plc, a London headquartered registered copper mining company, has appointed Charles Watson as Director at the companys Annual General Meeting in May 2012. Vladimir Kim, Oleg Novachuk, Eduard Ogay, Philip Aiken, Clinton Dines, Simon Heale, Lord Renwick and Daulet Yergozhin have been re-elected as Directors. Banks Renewables, part of the Banks Group, has completed a 21.9m agreement with The Co-operative Bank to fund the construction of the Penny Hill Wind Farm in South Yorkshire. Thirty new jobs are expected to be created as a direct result. Completion is expected by the end of 2013.
