Scotland-based contact centre operator Journeycall, is recruiting up to 50 more employees to deal with an expected increase in customer calls related to the 2012 Olympics. Lerwick Port Authority has secured £10m funding from the Scottish Government to part-fund a decommissioning centre of excellence in Shetland. The development is expected to create 150 jobs. AF Decom Offshore UK will develop the project which will create a deep-water site for the UK offshore sector.

Call centre operator HEROtsc is recruiting 200 more staff at its Derby contact centre which handles calls for Sky. HEROtsc took over the former Egg call centre in December 2011 and initially planned to recruit 800 people. 200 more jobs will be added in summer 2012 making a total of 1,000 employees at the site.
