Dunelm Group, an out-of-town specialist homewares retailer, recorded its Interim Results for the 26 weeks to 31 December 2011. Revenues up 8.8% to £299.9m from £275.7m· Like-for-like sales up by 1.1% from 1.2% decline,Gross margin up 10 basis points to 49.2% from 49.1%, Operating profit growth of 7.1% to £51.8m from £48.4m. Nick Wharton is Chief Executive.

£1.5m contracts secured - potential new jobs
Vacant property management specialist SitexOrbis has secured three contracts, totalling £1.5m. SitesOrbis will provide environmental and other services to West Midlands-based Sandwell Homes; house clearance for Nottingham-based Broxtowe Borough Council; and security services London's Ealing Council. The new contracts could create jobs. Turnover as at March 2010 was £50.5m, with staff headcount of 774.

£650m turnover - Triumph Motorcycles sales up 11%
Derbyshire-based Bloor Holdings recorded £650m turnover in the year to June 2011, while profit increased to £22.8m, compared with £19.6m in 2010. Triumph Motorcycles accounted for £345.3m of sales, an 11% increase from 2010. The group, which includes Bloor Homes, employs approximately 2,000 staff.

National Grid contract extended - upgrading electricity transmission network
Construction firm Morgan Sindall has secured a five-year substation contract extension with National Grid as part of the Electricity Alliance Central consortium. The new work includes the design, construction and commissioning of 400kv and 275kv transmission substations in the Midlands and north-west England.

£100m Contract Awarded - 50 New Jobs - Company Growth
Santander has awarded Interior Services Group a contract to build and fit-out a £100m data centre in the East Midlands. The project in Narborough, Leicestershire, will involve the construction of two identical buildings, each with an individual gross floor area of more than 161,000 sq ft, which will be built at the same time. Santander expects between 50 and 70 full-time positions to be created when the centre opens.

Developer appointed for £100m development scheme - 450 new jobs
Bedfordshire based Kier Partnership Homes has been chosen as the preferred bidder to redevelop a former Derby hospital into 700 new homes and a business park. The proposed £100m scheme would include 700 new homes and would be spread in phases over the next ten years. The plans also include a new business park, which aims to support 450 new jobs in the area.

£8m hotel opens in Leicester - 35 jobs created
A new 115-bedroom Ramada Encore hotel has opened in Leicester, Leicestershire after an £8m investment from building owner and businessman Indi Johal. Thirty five full and part time jobs have been created as a direct result. The hotel will be operated by the Akkeron Hotels Group under the Ramada brand. Henrik Jespersen is the General Manager.
