International home emergency group HomeServe expects its pre-tax profits for the year to the end of March 2012 to be in line with market forecasts. In the UK the group is making progress in reinvigorating its customer focus and restarting marketing activity, although this is taking longer than it originally anticipated. The company has an annual turnover of £333.2m and employs 1500 people.

200 job losses - customer numbers decline
Emergency repair provider Homeserve is scaling down its telesales operations with the loss of 200. Customer numbers have fallen and it is taking longer than anticipated to restart marketing activity following a suspension of services in October 2011 when an audit highlighted quality issues. 2011/12 profit is expected to meet market expectations of £122-132m.
