Technology renewal centre opened - potential new jobs
Hewlett-Packard has opened an 8,400 sq ft technology renewal centre in Scotland. It will offer services such as remarketing and recycling of IT equipment to customers across EMEA and is expected to create jobs. It will capitalise on opportunities in the growing market for refurbished technology equipment.

New contract secured secured for windfarm scheme - 1.5bn project
Staffordshire based electricity supplier ABB Ltd has been chosen by energy company Warwick Energy Limited, as their preferred supplier for the large offshore windfarm scheme Dudgeon, near to Cromer in Norfolk. The contract for the services is not expected to be signed until 2013, and is dependent on the 1.5bn project getting planning permission and securing funding.

New R&D project - creating jobs in Befast - business expansion
Software firm Kainos is launching a research and development project at its Belfast office, creating 8 jobs. The expanding company will invest almost £4m in staff training. Kainos employs 300 staff across its offices in Belfast, Dublin, London and Gdansk. 2011 turnover was £17m.

Business growth - Revenue rises 10 per cent - Services expanded
London based Inmarsat, a provider of global mobile satellite communications services, has recorded a 10 per cent rise in revenue to 355m dollars for 2012, up from 324m dollars in 2011. The company continues to grow and has added over 2000 of its FleetBoradband terminals between January and March 2012. The companys subscribers have increased to over 55000 during the same period.
