Government funding secured - Hampton by Hilton hotel development - potential new jobs
Hilton has secured funding from the government Growing Places fund to redevelop the vacant Joplings department store in Sunderland into a 119-bedroom Hampton by Hilton hotel with new shops. The development is expected to create employment and business opportunities. 2010 turnover 61.1m.

Business expansion - New Birmingham hotel

Acquires Page & Moy Travel Group - business expansion - £4.2m investment
All Leisure Group is acquiring Page & Moy Travel Group Ltd for £4.2m after securing a £5.8m loan from a consortium of individual investors. The acquisition will allow All Leisure Group to expand into new markets. All Leisure Group recorded turnover of £80.3m in 2011 and had 119 employees.

Open fourth Manchester venue - 50 new jobs - £150,000 refurbishment programme
Baa Bar Group is opening a fourth venue in Manchester, creating 50 new jobs. It is also investing £150,000 to upgrade its other three Manchester sites in 2012. The expansion is part of a UK-wide investment programme. Baa Bar operates nine bars and turned over more than £11m in 2011. It employs 320 staff.

20 new jobs - expansion of Chimichanga restaurant chain
Prezzo Plc has opened a Chimichanga restaurant in Crawley, West Sussex, as part of its ongoing expansion. Twenty jobs have been created at the Mexican restaurant which is managed by Melinda Sandor. The branch opened following a £650,000 refurbishment. Prezzo 2010 turnover was £104.8m, 2,148 employees.

New 10m hotel development - 55 potential new jobs
Bedfordshire headquartered Premier Inn Hotels Ltd, along with Reef Estates Limited, have submitted plans to build a 10m hotel in Winchester, Hampshire. If approved, the hotel would be built next to the citys fire station, and approximately 55 jobs would be created as a direct result. The hotel would have 101 bedrooms and parking for up to 87 cars.
