Manchester office opened - funding secured for hospital developments

Environmental health company Healthy Buildings (Ireland) is investing over £160,000 in an expansion which will create 15 jobs. The Belfast-based firm has received £30,000 from Invest NI to create a marketing strategy for Scotland and the north of England. It employs 60 people and hopes to increase sales in Great Britain to £500,000 by 2013.

22m hospital contract secured - new emergency care centre - potential new jobs
As part of the Miller hps consortium, Miller Construction has secured a 22m contract to build a 9,500 sq m emergency care centre at Gateshead Queen Elizabeth Hospital. The contract was awarded through the ProCure 21+ Framework. The consortium also includes Guildhouse UK and Community Ventures (Management). £1m revenue from Olympics - £121m debt facility secured - expansion in London
Student accommodation provider Unite Group expects Olympic contracts to add up to £1.75m to its revenue. A total of 3,600 of its rooms will be used in relation to the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Unite is acquiring two planned schemes in Stratford and Camden and has secured a £121m debt facility with Legal & General. 2010 turnover £193.4m, 913 employees.

15 security jobs lost - Review of security
Peel Holdings is to cut 15 security staff at MediaCityUK in Salford, Greater Manchester after a review of security levels. The security contract is with G4S, which intends to re-deploy as many officers as possible. The changes are to take affect from 1st July 2012.
