Opening respiratory physics laboratory - creating jobs - manager appointed
Team Consulting has appointed a new respiratory physics laboratory in Ickleton, Cambridgeshire after 2011 proved to be its most successful year financially. The company plans to double in size within five years and will take on further office and laboratory space and more staff. Mark Shepherd has been appointed manager of the new laboratory.

Centerpac acquired out of Administration - Turnover £18.2m - 80 Employees
Samuel Grant, supplier of packaging materials and eqiupment, have acquired Centerpac, a packaging supplies company, out of administration saving 12 jobs. Samuel Grant Group is the largest privately owned packaging distributor in the North employing 80 staff.

Sales fall - £600,000 lost - Gross profit up
Budget Greeting Cards, a wholesaler of cards, gift wrap and gift bags based in Rochdale near Manchester, has recorded a fall in sales to £29.7m in the year to March 2011, down slightly from the £30.3m achieved in 2010. Pre-tax profits also decreased from £2.2m to £778,700. Gross profits increased from £8.9m to £9.1m. The company have recorded an estimated £600,000 was lost as a result of bad weather which affected customer numbers.

Lease taken on warehouse - potential new jobs
