Domestic electrical applicance manufacturer Morphy Richards is reducing headcount at its operation in Swinton, South Yorkshire, due to difficult trading conditions. 31 jobs will be lost from operations and quality assurance department as part of a restructuring strategy. 2011 turnover £61.6m, 222 employees.

Green energy consultancy Camco has been rebranded as Verco Advisory Services following a management buy-out of the company from its international parent. The company is now employee owned as part of the Baxi Partnership. It provides energy efficiency advisory services across the housing sector.

Profit doubles at cooker specialist - Revenue falls by 9m
Profits have grown from 3.6m in 2010 to 7.5m in 2011 at cooker specialist Aga Rangemaster, based in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire. Turnover for the year to December 2011 fell to 250.9m, compared with 259.1m in the 2010. William McGrath is Chief Executive of Aga Rangemaster Group Plc.

Creating 300 jobs - turnover exceeds £1bn - new chief executive
Wiltshire-based domestic appliance manufacturer Dyson has increased its turnover to more than £1bn and plans to create 300 jobs, including 200 engineering jobs. 150 of the new roles will be for graduates. The group, which employs 3,600 staff worldwide, has appointed Max Conze as chief executive.

4.5m Camco acquisition
Fife-based investment firm, Baxi Partnership, has expanded into the renewable energy market with the 4.5m acquisition of alternative power developer Camco International. Baxi Partnership has also acquired London-based RM2, which advises businesses on how to run employee share schemes. Rapidly growing Baxi aims to increase its revenues to 50m over five years.

Cooker manufacturers profits half - Turnover down £2m - Expansion plans
Glen Dimplex Home Appliances (GDHA) which owns the cooking brands Stoves, Belling and New World and refrigeration brand Lec, reported a turnover of £131.4m in the year to the end of March 2011, down slightly from the £133.2m in 2011. Pre-tax profits fell from £8.5m in 2010 to £4.3m in 2011. The company is planning to continue its ongoing research and development work in order to improve its product range and to increase its market share. Denver Hewlett is the Chief Executive.

Profits fall 40% - Expanding overseas markets
Consumer goods supplier Ultimate Products annual profits fell 40% as it absorbed increased costs. The companys pre-tax profits were £4.1m. The company continues to expand overseas with a multi-million pound deal with French store chain Carrefour, its first agreement in India, and expansion into the US and Brazil.
