Multi-million pound contract secured - potential new jobs
Siemens Service in Lincoln has secured a multi-million pound contract to provide gas turbines for a natural gas project in Australia. The Lincoln operation has achieved record sales following a major investment. Siemens is relocating part of the business in September 2012. The firm currently has 1,500 employees; further jobs could be created as result of its expansion.

Orders up 11% to £210m - £30m potential contracts
T Clarke strengthened its order book to £210m between January and May 2012, from £190m in April 2011. £100m of work will be undertaken in 2012. It has completed £46m of work, securing over 80% of 2012 target revenue. The company is preferred bidder for £30m of projects starting in 2012. Turnover in 2010 was £179m, 1,441 employees.

Business expansion - £30m investment in industrial premises - New contract secured
Edinburgh headquartered JDR Cable Systems, which designs and manufactures subsea cables and umbilical systems, has invested £30m at its plant based in Hartlepool, County Durham. As a result the company is ready to bid for new contracts in the wind farm industry and has recently secured a contract for Dong Energys Gunfleet Sands wind farm project. Profits up 80% to £203m - healthcare sales up 9%
Electronics company Philips recorded an 80% increase in net profits to £203m in the 2012 first quarter, while sales grew 4%. The healthcare division performed strongly with sales up 9% but sales of consumer lifestyle products fell 1% compared with the 2011 first quarter. The outlook for 2012 remains uncertain.

LCD TV sales up 30% - company outperforms LCD market
Electronics company Philips recorded 30% growth in sales of LCD TVs in western Europe in the first quarter of 2012, despite the market contracting by 13% overall. Italy was responsible for the strongest sales in the LCD TV category. 2010: turnover £729.4m; 2077 employees.

£8m export order secured - turnover exceeds £25m - potential new jobs
Redditch-based metal contacts manufacturer Samuel Taylor has secured a US export order valued at £8m annually. The order will increase turnover to more than £25m and could create new jobs. Samuel Taylor employs more than 70 staff and recorded turnover of £19.2m in the year to May 2011.

Revenue up 12 per cent - Profit rises
London based seals and cylinders maker Diploma has recorded a 12 per cent rise in revenue for 2011. Profit before tax has increased to £49.53m in the year to September 2011 on sales of £258m.
