30 job losses - change of business focus
Stralfors UK Ltd is reducing headcount at its operation in Dartford, Kent by 30. The company is moving away from commoditised print and direct mail and focusing on added-value digital print. Stralfors' managing director John Carter has left by mutual consent and is replaced by operations director Tony Plummer.

New chief executive - Four years of losses - Integrating handset venture
Sony is taking full control of the Sony Ericsson handset venture and integrating it with its other consumer device lines. Kazuo Hirai has become president and CEO, replacing Howard Stringer, who stays as chairman. Hirai is currently head of the games unit. Sony has made four years of losses to 2011.

Potential new jobs - £11.7bn energy meter programme
BGlobal Plc expects to create jobs after a £11.7bn scheme to distribute energy reading devices to homes and businesses was revived. The programme was delayed by the government in 2011 but BGlobal is now working with an experienced retailer to establish a new energy supplier to enter the residential market.

Profits warning - closing Surrey sites - new high tech manufacturing centre
Elektronâ€™s sales and profits for the year to January 2012 will fall at the lower end of market expectations. The company has closed is office in Romford, Essex and transferred operations to Cambridge and Stansted. Operations at 2 sites in Surrey will move to Torquay, which will become a centre for high tech manufacturing.

Cutting 700 UK jobs - global restructuring programme
Nokia is cutting around 700 UK jobs by the end of 2012 as part of plans to reduce its global workforce by 4,000 within two years. The restructuring will save Nokia around £886m. Nokia's main UK sites are in London and Farnborough, Hampshire. The Southwood office in Farnborough will close by the end of 2013.
