Infinis contract secured - potential new jobs
Nordex has secured a major contract with Infinis, to supply 2.5MW turbines to five windfarms. The 22 turbines will be installed at two windfarms in Scotland and five in England. Construction work will commence in 2012, with the expected creation of new jobs. 2010 turnover £84.1m, 86 employees.

Tool and equipment hire specialist for sale - Business growth plans
Tool and equipment hire specialist HSS Hire Service Group has been put on the market. HSS Hire employs more than 300 people across its operations in Greater Manchester. It has depots from Inverness to Redruth in Cornwall. Plans for future growth include expanding its network of local branches and HSS Outsource, a range of equipment for rental to contract cleaners. £516,000 loss recorded - acquisition - £10m fundraising
Cheshire-based Sterling Green Group recorded a loss after taxation for the year to March 2012 of £516,000, compared with £1.9m in 2011. The figure includes costs and losses of £344,000 relating to the disposal of its trading subsidiaries in December 2011. It is acquiring another company and is raising £10m through a share placing.

27 jobs created - Creative Jobs Fund successful
A piltot project launched by Northern Film & Media to create jobs in the creative industries has provded successful, with companies adding 27 full-time posts in spring 2012. The company launched the £72,000 Creative Jobs Fund in February 2012. 2011 turnover £3.5m.

Business expansion - New Norway base
Highland-based offshore engineering and fabrication firm Global Energy Group is establishing its first permanent base in Norway. The base will support work already being undertaken for oil operators in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea. Global Energy has grown rapidly from its headquarters in Aberdeen and Inverness, and employs 4,300 workers.

NVM Private Equity has invested 2m in pub business Wear Inns to enable them to acquire new sites which will result in the creation of 40 new jobs. The Business Growth Fund has also invested 8m in Wear Inns and will take a minority stake in the business.
