£20m hospital redevelopment - 50 jobs created

Acquires De Vere gyms - business expansion
Healthcare charity Nuffield Health has acquired Greens Health & Fitness from hotels group De Vere. Nuffield health has acquired 15 gyms, making it the sixth-largest provider of fitness services in the UK with 300,000 members, 66 gyms and 200 business locations. Nuffield Health recorded turnover of £552.2m in 2010 and employed 2,007 staff.

£600,000 investment - modernisation programme
Coventry dental practice Holbrooks Dentalcare has invested £600,000 as part of major plans to modernise its business with new state-of-the-art facilities. The refurbishment has provided better disabled access, improved signage and a refit to create an airier environment. The practice employs five dentists, six dental nurses and three managers.

Bristols Chesterfield Hospital is to undergo an £11m redevelopment. Nuffield Health has teamed up with Watford-based VINCI Construction UK in a deal that will involve three operating theatres, 12 consulting rooms and space for up to 30 in-patients. The contract represents a £20m investment by Nuffield Health which safeguards 95 existing jobs and creates 50 more. Ashley Livesey is Hospital Director.
