Insurance business acquired - 130 staff
QBE has acquired Brit Insurances UK regional business. QBE will acquire all of the insurers renewal rights, operations and assets. It has 130 staff across eight locations across the UK. The transaction is expected to be concluded in April 2012. Steven Burns is the chief executive of QBE.

Following the Annual General Meeting of the Board of London based Beazley Group Plc, the parent company of specialist insurance businesses, thirteen directors have been reappointed as Directors of the Company. These include Clive Washbourn, Rolf Tolle, Ken Stoka, Vincent Sheridan, Padraic O'Connor, Neil Maidment, Andrew Horton, Dennis Holt, Gordom Hamilton, Joanthan Gray, Adrian Cox, Martin Bride and George Blunden. KPMG is also to be reappointed as Auditors of the Company.

Profit up 13% - Revenue rises 10% - Growth overseas
London based insurance firm, Jardine Lloyd Thompson (JLT), has recorded a 13% rise in pre-tax profit to £147.6m, compared to £130.1m in 2010. Revenue also increased to £818.8m, up 10%. Business in Asia and Latin America improved revenue growth, with Asian revenues up 28% year-on-year and Latin American revenues up 19%.

Acquires Lyon Insurance - ongoing business expansion
Cullum Capital Ventures (CCV) has acquired Anglesey-based Lyon Insurance Services as part of its ongoing expansion. Lyon, which specialises in insurance for guest houses and holiday homes, will be integrated into CCV broker Alker Brothers in Wigan. CCV also acquired Crown Insurance Brokers in Birmingham and further acquisitions are close to completion.
