Plans for new golf venue - joint venture with the European Tour - potential new jobs
The London Golf Club, in a joint venture with The European Tour, is planning to build a new European Tour Performance Institute, including a driving range and 9-hole Academy course. Planning permission has already been granted for a hotel and 36-hole championship golf course. The expansion is expected to create employment and business opportunities. 2011 turnover £4m, 112 employees.

Creating 30 jobs - senior appointments - e-commerce expansion
Chain Reaction Cycles, a Northern Ireland bicycle retailer, has appointed Jarlath Quinn as finance director, Michael Murdock as chief information officer and Nick Redmond as operations director. It is creating 30 new jobs in IT, product, e-commerce and marketing and has opened new headquarters. Turnover in 2010 was £109m; 600 employees.

E-tail specialist company growth - Sales up to 142m - Overseas growth - 260 employees
The Hut Group which inlcudes E-tail specialist Zavvi, has reported sales growth of 70 per cent for 2011. Total sales for the year stood at 142 million 92 per cent of which came through the groups own websites, while the remainder was generated by services rendered to retail partners. In addition, overseas sales now account for 35 per cent of the Groups gross revenue. Matthew Moulding is Chief Executive.

Revenues increase 70% to £143m - launching new products - international expansion

Sales up 5% - Pre Tax Losses of £60m Expected - 195 Stores
Retailer JJB Sports announced like-for-like sales increased 5% in the four weeks to 26th December. Last year, JJB was forced to secure £96.5 million in funds from major shareholders, as well as announce plans to close 43 unprofitable stores and place a further 46 on review in a bid to stave off administration.
