10 jobs created - Flintshire water testing centre opened - £8.6m expansion strategy
Dwr Cymru Welsh Water has created 10 jobs at its Bretton water testing laboratory near Broughton, Flintshire. It is planning to invest £8.6m in further new facilities, including another site in Newport. Opportunities will become available for skilled scientists and support staff. Year to March 2011: £676.7m turnover; 1727 employees.

40 new job - £8.6m capital investment - opening water quality laboratory
Dwr Cymru Welsh Water is investing £8.6m in a new water quality laboratory in Newport, Wales. 40 high-quality jobs will be available at the facility, which should be operational in late 2012. It is being built in a former HSBC building in Tredegar Park. Year to March 2011: turnover £676.7m; 1727 employees.

Water company receives Utility Industry Achievement Award
Employees at Yorkshire Waters contact centre in Thornbury, Avon received an award at the Utility Industry Achievement Awards. The reward is considered the highest accolade in the water and energy sectors. International expansion - £30m funding secured
Sustainable energy company ENER-G has secured a £30m funding line to help finance its international expansion. ENER-G reported a turnover of £122.4m for the year to 31 March 2011, a 5.8 per cent drop on a year earlier, and a pre-tax loss for the year of £6.4m. Peter Southby is the group finance director.
