£18.9m facility nears completion - supporting nuclear power developments
An £18.9m development on the Advanced Manufacturing Park for the University of Sheffield is nearing completion. The scheme includes the Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre which will develop techniques to allow UK manufacturers to provide components for nuclear power stations. BAM Construction is building the facility.

£100m student village - potential new jobs
AEW Architects has designed a £100m student village near Blacon, Cheshire and has submitted plans for the development which could create significant business and employment opportunities. AEW Architects worked with Bell Developments and planning consultants Spawforth on the scheme. The plans include accommodation for 2,500 student, a dining and leisure hub, and sports facilities.

Skills Centre refurbished - new build work completed
Darlington College's Skills Centre in Catterick, North Yorkshire, has been refurbished by Harrow building surveyors, providing improved facilities. New build work has also been completed, bringing the Catterick campus up to the same standard as the College¢€™s main centre in Darlington.

21 jobs at risk - selling training centre - £755,000 cost savings strategy
Calderdale Council is selling Heath Training Centre in Halifax and will unse the funds for a new library. It is reorganising school-improvement services to help save 755,000 a year. Twenty-one jobs will be lost, mainly at the training centre.
