100 jobs at risk - to be wound down
Lombard Vehicle Management Ltd is being closed down by parent company Royal Bank of Scotland, putting 100 jobs at risk. Its fleet will be wound down over a number of years and new contracts and vehicles will be passed over to ALD Automotive. The agreement with ALD will commence in summer 2012. Turnover for the year to September 2010 was £76.1m.

200 job losses - customer numbers decline
Emergency repair provider Homeserve is scaling down its telesales operations with the loss of 200. Customer numbers have fallen and it is taking longer than anticipated to restart marketing activity following a suspension of services in October 2011 when an audit highlighted quality issues. 2011/12 profit is expected to meet market expectations of £122-132m.

Call centre opened - creating 200 jobs
Etihad Airlines Ltd has opened a call centre at Manchester Airport. The airline has doubled daily flights from Manchester and plans to increase staff headcount at the airport from 100 to 300 by the end of 2012. The call centre will take calls from customers booking flights 27 countries and will provide a 24-hour service.

Network video specialist Axis Communications is opening a Northern European headquarters in Watford, Hertfordshire to capitalise on expected growth of more than 30% in the UK CCTV market by 2016.
