£10m loss at wireless technology firm - £44m restructuring costs - Over 400 jobs lost
Cambridge based wireless technology firm CSR Plc has recorded a pre-tax loss of £10.2million between January and March 2012, compared with a loss of £1.8million in the same period in 2011. The increased losses are as a result of the companys £44m of restructuring costs, which included closing down its TV business section and cutting more than 400 jobs.

IT company restructure - 30000 jobs at risk
Information technology company HP, based in Bracknell in Berkshire, is to undergo a restructure and 30,000 jobs are at risk as a direct result. The company currently employs some 320,000 people worldwide. 10 to 15,000 of the job cuts will come from HPs enterprise services group, and the company will be offering early retirement packages to approximately 5000 employees. Opening Corby pub - 45 potential new jobs
JD Wetherspoon is opening a new pub in Corby, Northamptonshire, following the success of its existing premises in town. Up to 45 jobs are expected to be created. The pub will be developed by Mulberry. JD Wetherspoon recorded £1bn turnover in 2011.

Escorted travel specialist Page & Moy has been acquired by cruise line operator All Leisure for £4.2m. Job losses are expected as a result of the takeover.

£4.5m hotel opens - 50 jobs created
Premier Inn has opened a £4.5m hotel in Paignton, Devon. The 61-bed Paignton South Premier Inn and 220-cover White Rock Beefeater Grill have created 50 new jobs. Premier Inn Hotels Ltd recorded £87.4m turnover in 2011 and employed 3,433 staff.
