Advanced Supply a Bradford-based logistics grou, is to open a new 200,000 sq ft operations centre which is set to create up to 150 jobs this year. The company have also signed a 3 year deal with retailer Go Outdoors which will see Advanced invest an extra £5 million in its new Midlands warehouse and recruit 100 more staff

Supermarket Morrisons is creating 400 jobs at a new manufacturing site in Somerset by 2014. The company's distribution centre is being extended to provide a fruit and vegetable store and packhouse which will reduce the company's road miles by two million each year. In 2011 Morrison¢€™s recorded £16.48bn turnover and employed 132,074 staff.

Profits rise at consumer goods company - Beauty products company acquired - 18 jobs lost
Consumer goods company Unilever has recorded a small rise in 2011 profits after price hikes and cost savings offset difficult market conditions. During 2011 the firm has also acquired beauty products company Alberto Culver. Up to 18 jobs will be lost at its factory in Swansea, Wales.

Northumberland-based Wood Heating has secured a £150,000 investment to recruit new staff following an increase in sales. The investment was from Finance for Business North Eastâ€™s accelerator fund. Guaranteed government financial subsidies are expected to significantly increase demand for the firm's biomass boilers.
