Financial claims management company EMCAS has doubled the size of its Devon workforce to 282 over the past 12 months after opening a new office in Exeter. Demand from consumers who have been mis-sold financial products has increased and the company has developed and launched new specialist services.

100 new jobs - 2.5m office development - 108,000 funding secured
Harveys Foundry Trust will start work later in 2012 on the 2.5m final phase of the regeneration of the former Harvey & Co premises in Hayle, Cornwall. The development will provide modern office office accommodation and will create up to 100 jobs. The trust secured 108,000 from Cornwall Council to develop plans for the regeneration.

Proposed new nursing home and care home - includes residential and office development
Saint John of God Care Services has applied to build a 60-bed nursing home and an 11-bed care home on the site of the former Saint Clare Abbey in Carmel Road, Darlington. In addition to the two new buildings, it is also proposed to convert the Abbey into residential and office space.

Performance Window Group is planning to expand its headquarters in Tiptree, Essex, creating 30 jobs and increasing staff headcount to 140. The company has purchased land next to its existing premises to accommodate the expansion.

New digital business centre - creating 33 jobs - 1m capital investment
Stockton Council is investing 1m to create a new digital business centre in Stockton-on-Tees. The centre is expected to attract digital and new media businesses to the town, creating 33 jobs. The development is part of a 20m strategy to regenerate the whole town centre.

Business expands outside of England - Law firm opens new office - New jobs created
Law firm TLT, based in Bristol in the South West of England, has launched an office in Belfast, Northern Ireland, as part of its expansion outside of England. The new practice will be called TLT NI and will be led by newly recruited partner Katharine Kimber. Four locally recruited solicitors and paralegals have also joined the team. Opens Derby headquarters - business expansion - potential new jobs
Food Search Worldwide, which sources products on behalf of high street retailers and restaurant chains, has opened new headquarters in Derby. It has taken a five-year lease on two warehouse units, totalling 15,070 sq ft, following exceptional business growth. Six staff have relocated to the new site and four more will be recruited.

£1m revenue from Olympics - £121m debt facility secured - expansion in London
Student accommodation provider Unite Group expects Olympic contracts to add up to £1.75m to its revenue. A total of 3,600 of its rooms will be used in relation to the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Unite is acquiring two planned schemes in Stratford and Camden and has secured a £121m debt facility with Legal & General. 2010 turnover £193.4m, 913 employees.
