Updated 1st Feb 2012  -  UK Turnover in the Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, Biotechnology, Medical Equipment & Supplies sector companies monitored has risen by 4% in the past accounting year to reach £136.1bn. Profits have decreased by 16% to £25.3bn.  Employee numbers have fallen 0.3% to approximately 735,679 people in the same period.  Over the last 3 years, turnover has declined by 11% and employee numbers have risen by 12%.  See UK Growth by Sector section for more detail.
