Updated 1st Feb 2012  -  UK Turnover in the Banking & Financial Services sector companies monitored has risen marginally by 0.7% to £463.7bn in the past accounting year. Profits have decreased by 8% to £36.9bn.  Employee numbers over the same period have decreased marginally by 0.4% to a total of approximately 2,235,519 people.  Over the last 3 years, turnover has increased by 19%, and employee numbers have also risen by 0.3%.  See UK Growth by Sector section for more detail.
