Updated 1st Feb 2012  -  UK Turnover in the Insurance and Assurance sector companies monitored has fallen by 2% in the past accounting year to £291.3bn. Profits have increased by 3% to £5.6bn.  Employee numbers have declined by 2% to reach approximately 558,615 people over the same time period.  Over the last 3 years, turnover has increased by 50% and employee numbers have risen by 4%.  See UK Growth by Sector section for more detail.
